MotoGP 2026 Teams Preview

Kuala Lumpur – After another record-breaking 2025 season with Marc Marquez winning his seventh premier class world title, MotoGP is back to action for 2026 season, as this would be the final season with the 300hp-powered 1000cc engines before transitioning to 240-hp powered 850cc engines starting 2027 season onwards. So who will be the final ever MotoGP world champion in 1000cc era?

A. Factory teams
Ducati might have been the most dominant constructor over the previous five seasons, with the Bologna-based manufacturer celebrates its 100th anniversary in a special centenial livery on the new Desmosedici GP26. This is the first time we see red-white colors on a Desmosedici, the last time Ducati wore those colors was from 2003 to 2018 before turning into full red from 2019 until 2025. Can Ducati continue the streak of undisputed dominance in 2026?

The Noale-based manufacturer once again became dark horse in 2025 with Marco Bezzecchi taking three wins and five poles and Jorge Martin also performing well despite injury. Will the RS-GP 26 become a serious title contender in 2026?

KTM took another winless season in 2025, but 2026 promises the Austrian manufacturer back into title winning pursuit, as the slogan said that the RC16 is still "Ready To Race".

The Iwata-based constructor enters new era as they will race their YZR-M1 with new V4 engine after raced with inline-four engine from 2002 to 2025. With the new V4 engine, Yamaha in high hopes could return to title contention.

It needs step-by-step for Honda to fight back into front, with the Japanese brand moved concession to C and aimed for more success in 2026.

B. Independent teams
Gresini continued their success in 2025 as top independent team, with Alex Marquez taking runner-up spot with three wins and Fermin Aldeguer became 2025 top rookie with a win at Mandalika. Nadia Padovani said that Gresini will continue its success as top indie rider and team as Alex has provided the GP26 bike alongside factory riders Marc Marquez and Francesco Bagnaia, while Aldeguer will ride on GP25 bike.

For MotoGP legend Valentino Rossi, winning is always the key to success, and this year, the 46-year old will bring into luckiest year in his career not only as former MotoGP world champion, but also a successful team manager, as he turns 46 and VR46 Racing Team will bring more success in 2026.

3. Trackhouse Racing
2025 sees Trackhouse made history as the first ever American team in MotoGP era to win MotoGP race courtesy of Raul Fernandez's victory in Australia. But 2026 promises that they will continue its further success in 2026.

For 2026 season Tech 3 welcomes former Haas F1 Team boss Gunther Steiner as Tech 3's new CEO, while Herve Poncheral still remained as team principal.

Pramac Racing celebrates its 25th season in MotoGP as satelite team by welcoming three-time World Superbike champion Toprak Razgatlioglu and retaining Jack Miller in the team.

The team founded by Lucio Cecchinello in 1998 firstly raced in 125cc and 250cc class, but that was until 2006 when Cecchinello debuted his LCR Team to the MotoGP class and has since won races with Cal Crutchlow and Johann Zarco. To celebrate the team's 20th anniversary in the premier class, LCR welcomes 2025 Moto2 world champion Diogo Moreira into the team and retained Zarco as LCR's main rider.
